WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS

We did it!

On Monday the 11th of November around 7 pm we smashed the target of raising £12,000 on Kickstarter.

So, what does that mean.

In a Nutshell that means that soon there will be a new hot glassblowing facility in the Northwest of Ireland.

It takes a few months to get these things up and running and lots of careful planning.

But it is going to happen and it can't come soon enough for me.

Now the latest news is that those incredibly generous people who pledged for glass goods will be receiving their glass in the coming year.

To start with the small pieces of glass I currently have in stock will be sent out first.

The Pendants and Badges.

The rest will follow as soon as the studio is up and running.

I still need to pinch myself to convince myself that this is really happening.

Its been over 20years since I first began my journey into glass and I had given up on this dream a few years ago.

Now its a reality and I have a strong message to get across through my art.

I want to change the worlds view on breastfeeding and make an impact in how we move forward now.

Human Milk Infused Glass Breasts (London Glassblowing Gallery 2019)

What I see my work achieving is to open up conversations around breastfeeding and helping dispel myths that often discourage breastfeeding.

I feel I have been given a great gift in that I am an Advanced Cuidiu Breastfeeding Counsellor, a Birth Doula and a Glassblower. A rare combination. But a Fierce one.

I have a constant stream of new and innovative ideas for exhibitions going round in my head and one that is vitally important is to finally exhibit individual Human Milk pieces i've made for families.

They will walk into the gallery and see their human milk infused glass for the first time.

So there is my mission for the coming year.

If you are interested in being part of this incredible project or would like to learn more about what I infuse into glass, please get in touch. I'd love to hear from you.

Lots of Love and HUGE hugs

Helen
